"Time piece"

Hello all,

This is a more detailed daily painting today as I been working on designs for some shops in my children's book over the last few days which has now influenced my painting for today. I really like the little 1950s cat clock detail in the corner, he looks really mischievous!

"Hunting the Snark" daily painting

Hello all,
hope you all had a nice weekend.
Here is todays daily painting, which is inspired by Lewis Carroll's "The Hunting of the Snark". This amazing nonsense poem has an great cast of characters characters and scenes, so I thought I would have a go at interpreting it in todays painting.
Im getting more a more into drawing night scenes (its something to do with the atmosphere and the playing around with positive and negative image). I would love to do a whole series of images based around night time.

PICK ME UP SELECTS!

Hello All,

I'm very excited to announce that I will be showing at this years PICK ME UP graphics arts fair (at Somerset house in London).
I'll be showing the Pick Me Up Selects section (which is a group of 20 up-coming artist and illustrators.) I have been involved in the last two exhibitions, but to have my own space is going to be amazing.
I'm planing to show all knew work (a mix of 2-D and 3-D), including my daily paintings and work from my first ever children's book!!! (which I will be giving you a sneaky peek of very soon).
I will be posting more about my progress over the coming weeks, but if you would like to find out more about the event then please visit Somerset houses site here

The Evening Blower! a daily painting

Hello all,

Here is todays painting its quite a moody one today!
I been trying different overlying techniques with the acrylic paint using different colours underneath another to see if I can build up a sense of depth in a night time scene (these are experiments for a larger project which I will post about in the coming months). I think this one has worked particularly well, especially when used with limited white space.

Hello All,

I have decided in a way of keeping you all in the loop on my work-in-progress (as well as making my blog a bit more exciting and to force me to update it more regularly!) I will begin posting my daily paintings up here everyday!
As I said I my last post these paintings are my daily exercises, were I can try out new ideas and techniques, without the worry of keeping a regular theme or concept!

Here is todays piece, hope you like it!
